L’arte in tavola: gusto, stile, convivialità

Dal gusto al territorio, dal benessere alla raffinatezza, dall’etichetta alla semplice voglia di stare insieme, questa rubrica vuole curiosare tra le molteplici e variegate arti del desinare avendo come riferimento centrale il “Bel paese”; universalmente riconosciuto come la culla dell’eno-gastronomia e della convivialità.

Sarà giusto un pretesto per scoprire quella variegata tipicità per cui l’Italia è tanto amata ed anche abbondantemente copiata, ma vuole anche essere un piccolo spunto per dare spazio a quella voglia di convivialità sempre più contrastata dall’odierno stile di vita frettoloso ed incostante.

“Food and Wine”: Taste, Style, Setting and Conviviality

Many different kinds of Arts are involved when we are talking about “food and wine”.

Taste, territory, health, elegance, style, conviviality… that column is going to look round what dining is actually nowadays, having Italy as focal point for its being renowned throughout the world as the cradle of food, wine and conviviality.

One more chance to discover a bit more about the variegated typicality Italy is so much loved for and copied at the same time, but also one more opportunity to make room for style and conviviality in some way; notwithstanding current lifestyle makes it harder sometimes.

Fatti del giorno, cultura, moda, cinema, televisione, sport, scienza, eventi, o meglio qualunque cosa catturi in qualche modo l’attenzione; e magari anche l’occhio del fotografo.

Questa rubrica non vuole essere una cronaca esaustiva, fior di giornali se ne occupano giorno dopo giorno. Sarà più che altro una sorta di periscopio che focalizzerà di volta in volta un argomento diverso, con l’obbiettivo di fornire qualche spunto di riflessione sul quotidiano.

Browsing Through Current Events

Issues of the day, culture, fashion, books, cinema, television, science, sport and events, that is to say anything is going to capture the attention as well as the photographer’s eye in some way.

However, this column won’t be a news section reporting everything, as many newspapers do it effectively. Here you’ll have just one more opportunity to know and think about different current topics that could be interesting to focus on.

Rievocazione storica: un’attività che significa ricostruire, un valore che guarda al futuro

Rievocare un evento storico non significa semplicemente “ricordarlo”.

Un’approfondita attività di ricerca e ricostruzione si cela dietro ad un lavoro pieno di studio e passione, che affiancato ad un processo di archeologia ricostruttiva ha come finalità la valorizzazione e la riscoperta delle tradizioni socio-culturali di un popolo. Tradizioni che sono alla base della nostra vita moderna e della nostra identità, perché senza passato non ci può essere né presente, né futuro.

Questa rubrica prende spunto da una collaborazione fotografica con il Gruppo Storico Romano, un’associazione culturale senza scopo di lucro nata nel 1994 ed ampiamente riconosciuta nel panorama della rievocazione sull’Antica Roma (un ringraziamento al Presidente Sergio Iacomoni, al Responsabile delle Relazioni Esterne Andrea Buccolini ed a tutto il gruppo per la loro gentile collaborazione) e rivela la presenza di tante associazioni culturali che impegnano tempo, studio e fatica nel ricreare scene, abiti ed oggetti di uso comune, tra cui ad es. l’Associazione culturale Officina Romana Para Bellum (un sentito ringraziamento all’instancabile Presidente Filippo Masci), l’Associazione culturale di Archeologia sperimentale e rievocazione storica di epoca romana Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix (che insieme al Presidente Angelo De Marzo riesce sempre a stupire raccontando agli avventori segreti e genialità degli antichi romani) e l’Associazione Carnevale Romano (creata dal Presidente Marco Lepre per riscopere lo storico Carnevale Romano); senza però dimenticare le tante altre sfaccettature che ad oggi gravitano intorno a quest’arte che appassiona e coinvolge sempre più persone nel mondo.

Un ringraziamento particolare va al Professor Mariano Malavolta, già in servizio come Professore Associato presso il Dipartimento di “Scienze storiche, filosofico-sociali, dei beni culturali e del territorio” nonché Docente di “Storia Romana” fino al 2014 presso l’Università di Roma “Tor Vergata” ed autore di libri ed approfondimenti apparsi in varie riviste scientifiche, per la sua preziosa collaborazione.

Historical Re-enactment: Reconstructing History to Build Our Future.                 

Re-enacting a historical event doesn’t mean just “recalling” it.

As a matter of fact, a careful combination of in-depth research and reconstructive archaeology is involved in this kind of activity, thus making it a hard but passionate work where the focal point is not only rediscovering the past, but also revaluating all those sociocultural traditions underlying both, our modern lifestyle and social identity. Something which is really important, because neither a present nor a future are possible without a knowledge coming from the past.

That column takes the cue from a nice photografic collaboration with the Gruppo Storico Romano, an Italian Cultural no-profit Association born in 1994 and well-known all around the Ancient Rome re-enacting world, but without forgetting the many other Cultural Association and the many different aspects of a really multifaceted art that has been thrilling more and more people over time. Because of this, I’d like to thank Sergio Iacomoni and Andrea Buccolini (respectively, President and Head of External Relations of the Gruppo Storico Romano) together with their whole group for their kind collaboration, Filippo Masci (the tireless Charman of the Officina Romana Para Bellum), Angelo De Marzo (the careful Charman of the Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix) and Marco Lepre (the Charman of the Carnevale Romano Association); that are just some of the many brilliant people guiding us to rediscover historical secrets, genious and traditions. 

Last but not least, I want to say a special thank you to Mr. Mariano Malavolta, Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in “Scienze storiche, filosofico-sociali, dei beni culturali e del territorio” (and Professor of “Roman History” up to 2014) at “Tor Vergata” University of Rome as well as author of books and scientific mags’ articles, for his precious and supportive contribute.

La Fotografia

La Fotografia, emozioni tra passato e presente

Eccoci nel mondo della fotografia, a curiosare tra le sue varie forme, dalle più vintage alle più contemporanee, per conoscere insieme un po’ meglio quest’arte senza tempo che non conosce confini.

Le aree “La Fotografia ieri ed oggi” e “Carpe diem” saranno dedicate a condividere curiosità ed esperienze, rispettivamente, su quanto ha portato la fotografia ad essere quel che è oggi e su quanto e come la fotografia comunica.

L’area dedicata a “News mostre ed eventi Fotografia”, invece, a dispetto di quanto suggerirebbe il nome, non vuole essere un mero elenco di quanto è in partenza o in corso di svolgimento, ma è bensì inteso come uno spazio dove si parlerà di come la fotografia interagisce oggi con il pubblico, alternando news informative a delle piccole dissertazioni che raccoglieranno personali impressioni degli eventuali “dopo visita”, affinché la fotografia non diventi asettica ma mantenga quello che è il suo scopo principe: uno scambio di emozioni.

Per questo, nell’area commenti, saranno bene accette anche le vostre impressioni sugli argomenti via via trattati, basta essere armati di buone intenzioni e lasciar fuori tutto quanto è ragionevolmente fuori contesto; sia con riguardo all’argomento che nel comportamento.

Back to the Future: a Timeless Emotion through a Lens

Browsing through different types of photography, from the vintage analog systems to the most contemporary ways of looking through lenses thus telling our personal stories, that’s what we are aiming to do in this column; thus seeking more knowledge about this timeless art which has no boundaries.

The areas named “La Fotografia ieri ed oggi” and “Carpe diem” aim at sharing tidbits and experiences about, respectively, developments and achievements of photography; so that better understanding what photography means nowdays and how it conveys its message.

The area named “News mostre ed eventi Fotografia” then, despite the semblance, actually won’t be a mere list of exhibitions and events about photography. It’s more properly a space where talking about the current interaction between photography and audience, a place where alternating news with small talks about personal impressions concerning the different experiences gained visiting or taking part in them as well.

For that reason, in the comments area you can add your own personal impression concerning topics and exhibitions you visited, just remembering that good intentions and contextual observations are reasonably requested regarding both, topics and behaviour.

So, welcome to all of you, take a seat and have a nice time!
